weekend laughs

A lot of things made me chuckle this weekend. Really random crap but I hope it at least elicits some sort of smirk from you!

First, comes this picture from Honolulu Advertiser writer Catherine Toth. She regularly blogs -- this comes from her excursion to Vegas.

The next comes from good ol' Cleveland. As most of you know, I really really really want to run a 5K this summer. (And btw, I completed my first week of "training" successfully!) So I may be laughing at this article now, but if I were one of these runners, I'd be pissed! Seems like some runners in a 10K may have gone nearly 3 miles out of their way because of a wrong turn! Unbelievable!

But my Amara "tee hee" came while she was on the phone with Aunt2Amara this evening. She decided to sing her new favorite song. But because she really doesn't know the lyrics, it comes out more like "Doo, doo, doo. Three little birds, sat on my window. Doo, doo, doo. Girl, put your records on. Tell me your favorite song. Doo, doo, doo." That's fierce!
today's good: I ran again today. I was running against the wind and thought I could take on the world! Oh, and we finally bought a new sofa for our family room/Amara's playroom. Should look pretty sweet!
today's bad: So I'm starting to get anxious about hosting 15 four- and five-year-olds for Amara's birthday. How will I keep them entertained?!?!

  1. Girl, direct them towards that fabulous swingset! I'm dying for one, but my husband always points out that we live 2 blocks from 2 parks. But I can't sit in my pajamas, drink coffee, and blog while she plays at the PARK, now can I?

  2. Just dropped by your blog for the first time! Sounds like you have a great little girl!

  3. 2.7+ miles off course! I would have been furious. I did a 10 mile run back in Jan and was angry that the course wasn't marked well... a few of us (including me) ran an extra 2-3 tenths of a mile farther. I certainly wasn't even close to winning, though. I can't even imagine how the potential winners of the Cleveland 10K must have felt.
