8 weeks to the perfect fall menu

It's hard to believe.

We're not yet in the Grey House.

All of my cookware is packed away.

And we're technically still in the midst of summer.

But I'm already thinking ahead to our annual Halloween party.

Since we will have only been in the new house for a few weeks, I've scaled back. It's now an open house.

But the date remains the same (it's always the Saturday before the holiday). Costumes are still encouraged.

And I'm planning a nice feast.

I'll have my autumn usuals. Chili. Meatballs. Baked ziti. Cheesy potatoes.

I'll have warm apple cider and apple crisp from my favorite orchard.

And of course I'll make a pecan pumpkin pie.

But I want more spectacular dishes.

What screams fall? What foods say, "yes, cooler weather has arrived?"

I have eight weeks to prepare.

  1. Sounds like you've got your party menu covered. It's making me hungry...

    For me, lasagna soup screams fall. It's our go-to for get togethers. Also love to make pumpkin bundt cake - yummy!

  5. LOVE fall menu. I do have a recipe for a shortcut apple pie, even undomestic me can conjure up easily.
