firsts at the new house

We are finally in the new house.

One week later, gone are the days where I felt overwhelmed by the amount of boxes consuming my world.

Gone are the nights when I felt nauseous of the sight of a scratch in my new hardwood floors.

I just feel...content.

With a new house, we've had a lot of firsts.

The move started nicely. No movers. No furniture. No extended family. Just Dad2Amara, Amara and me.

I simply enjoyed being home.

This is our first family dinner at the Grey House. Freaking McDonald's.

I then looked up to see the sunset from our new front door.

Beautiful.

I knew we were truly home.

So before the movers hit the Grey House, Amara and I spent the night there. And I of course woke up to a freshly brewed cup of joe.

And then I walked out to the front porch to put Amara on the school bus for the first time.

Notice the Kent State sweatshirt. That's definitely not something Mom2Amara purchased for her. [snicker]

I am sure there will be plenty of other firsts in the Grey House for our family.

And I can't wait for all of them.

I'm so happy to just be home. Settled. Comfortable.

Want the nickel and dime tour? Check out Amara's house blog. And make sure you see what could be my most favorite room in the house.
