my cheapest trip to Disney

Yup, I'm the skipper of this boat.

Last week, I went on my favorite Magic Kingdom expedition and toured the jungle...without leaving the Midwest. It was my "cheapest" Disney trip yet!

How?

Disney brought the magic to Chicago! The Let the Memories Begin Tour is going across the country. And Disney kicked off its national tour with a stop in the Windy City.

I got to man the Jungle Cruise while it was docked at the Shops at North Bridge...right in front of Nordstrom's!

As a part of the Disney Moms Panel, I was invited to check it out. How can you not want to transport yourself virtually in front of beloved Disney icons like Cinderella's Castle? Me? I'm stoked I got the Jungle Cruise, although I wish I had sailors hat for when I was at the ship's helm!

My two loves collided last week: Disney and Chicago. I really didn't know what to do with myself. I came back from this trip all giddy. Pixie Dust on Michigan Avenue is almost as fabulous as it is on Main Street U.S.A.!

For those of you not fortunate enough to have Disney in your backyard, get your Disney fix with the Let the Memories Begin Tour. Even if they aren't making a stop in your city, you can still upload a photo to the site and play with some Disney magic there too.

Some of our most prized, cherished memories are those that didn't cost a penny. I love every trip I make to Disney World. But I promise, I will always remember this trip to Chicago!

  2. Great photo! My family also had some Disney magic in the Chi last week. Let the Memories Begin Tour at the Water Tower Place and the Interactive Disney Store on State St. It was a great mini trip and the kids loved it. The funny thing was everyone kept asking us if we just got back from WDW & I just keep answering "We never left, we live it every day!" LOL
