True Love

My heart was broken years ago, and I wondered if I would ever recover.

Nearly five years ago, I lamented:
At some point, you have to realize that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life.
I wrote that then walked away from my love.

I have found you never forget your true love. Photographs can be removed. Memories will fade. But there will always be a void where that love once filled.

Losing your true love changes you intrinsically.  No matter how much time has passed, you will feel its pain or its joy when you least expect it. You'll search for a replacement - and fail. Why? Just because it didn't last, it doesn't make it any less real.

You don't forget true love. It stays with you forever. And if you're lucky, true love will find its way to you and fill your heart once more.
