role models

This week's CHBM prompt is
"Who's your favorite role model and why?"
I thought this would be an in the park homerun for me. But the more I thought about it, the more I considered not even participating because I honestly can't answer.

There were people I was envious of while growing up. I still am. I hope to be a good mom2Amara and see a lot of moms -- famous and those not so famous -- that I would like to imitate. I see and read articles from writers that leave me wanting to be talented like them. At church, at Girl Scouts, at many other events I attend, I see men and women who are moral and righteous and good.

But I think I recognize my own strengths and weaknesses.

And I am proud to be mom2Amara. I am an individual. I know there are many traits I need to work at improving. Yet I know that there are many qualities I have that are outstanding.

So no, I don't have a role model. I have many mentors in many roles.

But I can only hope Amara learns to be her own person, proud of her beliefs, and is able to distinguish which good traits of mine she should mimic!

  1. I think Amara has many good traits to choose from! You are always very encouraging to me, and I have really enjoyed getting to know you through the crazy hip mamas!

  2. Role models/mentors, they all help guide and form us to the people we are today.

I really enjoy reading your posts about you and your daughter. You speak directly to your readers, it's nice.
