B-U-S-Y and under a spell

As Aunt2Amara has kindly pointed out, I've been neglecting my blog lately.

So my apologies. The work gods have been not so nice. So it's not that I couldn't blog...it's the fact that I haven't seen Amara for long enough to see what my little one is up to lately.

As for the post title? Not only am I trying to spell out for all of you why I haven't been around, but I did read a little ditty that made me laugh this morning.

You think it's hard to be a competitor in the National Spelling Bee? Try being a judge choosing the words that are going to be used! Talk about P-R-E-S-S-U-R-E!

So Amara has decided what she'd like for her fourth birthday:

Funny since Amara is still on a trike that she can't stop without dragging both feet on the ground!

And there's a sentimental side to me, wondering how I became old enough to have a daughter that can get what she calls "a big girl bike with training wheels."

And let's not mention that our family is NOT the outdoor-sy type. We don't do nature walks. We don't take the bikes out for a jaunt. I don't even own a bike! I hate being in the sun and sweating. And my girl wants a bike?!?!

Maybe it's peer pressure. Maybe it's a rite of passage. But whatever it is, why did it make its way into my house?
today's good: Yesterday was Dad2Amara's birthday. We went to Cheesecake Factory and had yummy food. Happy belated birthday, Dad2Amara!
today's bad: So gouging myself with cheesecake, chicken madeira, and Amara's left over french fries, I've come to the conclusion that I must lose weight. I'm at my highest on the scale since pregnancy. That's bad. So I start. Today. Wish me luck.

  1. Happy belated birthday Dad2Amara!

  2. cheesecake factory... need to get me some of that... Happy birthday dad2amara!
