it's getting all too real now

The hospital has asked me to check in with the concierge at 9 a.m.

(Concierge? Last time I looked, this wasn't a spa.)

Surgery is at noon.

They reminded me of the risks. Transfusions are likely.

I left work early to pack. And it's not just my suitcase.

I had to get clothes ready for Amara. She's staying with Grandma2Amara while I'm in the hospital.

I don't want to tell her I'm having surgery. So she thinks she's just going there to visit.

But I realized a bit ago that getting her luggage together means I won't see her for at least two days.
