love a rat

In television, February is one of the main ratings periods of the year.

Translation: Mom2Amara can never take time off in February.

Before I knew I was going to have surgery, I was already hinting to my boss that I wanted to take today off. After all, it is the first day of the Chinese New Year.

Luckily for me, the lion must have heard my pleas. Surgery was meant to be.

And for my family and friends snickering right now, please take note, Great-Grandpa2Amara was part Chinese. Hence I can celebrate the holiday.

This year is the year of the rat.

It's just me and Amara tonight celebrating because Dad2Amara is teaching after work.

But that's OK. I may not be able to walk far distances or drive the mom-mobile.

I can make fried rice.

Hello, dinner.

Since I haven't been able to get out of the house and making Amara's Valentine's has been a project as it is, I wasn't able to gather red envelopes for the kids at her school. Bummer.

Yet I hate to admit it, but I'm also going to watch Nickelodeon by myself since Amara's at school.

But I don't want to miss the debut of Ni Hao, Kai-lan!

Think a Mandarin Dora. How cool is that?

Every day should be a holiday. Just kinda wish the rat wasn't associated with it...

  1. I'm totally excited about Ni Hao! I'm so glad Nick Jr made this.

  2. Happy Oriental New Year...

    C' knew I had to...!!!

  3. Newshutr -- you do that but you held back on the other post?!?! Yeah, happy new year to you too, you big dork!

  4. It's my year.... I'm a RAT! Happy New Year! I wanted to celebrate to but instead I took 2 Aleve and had night sweats and chills.... Fun, Fun, Fun!

  5. just like SHINE, i'm a rat too. i hear we kick big time butt. enjoy the new year! btw, fried rice does sound mighty good now.
