what I'm leaving behind

I'm about ready to leave for the airport. My stint here in San Diego is complete.

I've sat on my panel, telling PR folks and doctors how to deal with media.

Friends took me to Seaport Village. It was great to see them. It's been years. (Why, oh why, didn't I take a camera with me?)

Family took me to Old Town, the first settlement in California. You know, the type of place Dad2Amara would love.

And last night, some new acquaintances and I hit the Gaslamp Quarter. I wouldn't mind spending more Friday nights there.

But what will I miss most about San Diego?

I was so fortunate to be flown out here, having my expenses paid for. But I was even luckier that I was able to visit with my cousins, whom I adore and wish I could have seen more.

It's all the more reason why I want to visit here again soon.

But now, I'm off -- headed back to see an excited Amara. I had doubts she missed her Mama. But after greeting her this morning, I think I was wrong.

Good. Since I missed her too.

  1. Sounds like a great little mommy get-away... and as always, very nice to come home to big hugs and kisses. :D
