when life hands you lemons
If I only had a dollar for every person you and I know that has cancer.
It's so sad to think about.
But day in and day out, there are patients fighting this ugly disease. And there are people looking for a cure.
I ran the Path to Progress 5K for the American Brain Tumor Association in honor of my mom, Lola2Amara.
And it's no secret I fundraised for another charity and ran the Napa2Sonoma half marathon to help my friend's illness, albeit not cancer but another important cause to me.
So when I was asked to write about Alex's Lemonade Stand, how could I say no?
You may have heard of them.
Good folks put up a lemonade stand in their communities, with all proceeds going to childhood cancer research.
The organization all started when a 4-year-old named Alex declared she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help children with cancer.
So now, from September 11 through the 13th, that very organization is calling on Cleveland to help find a cure for cancer, one lemonade stand at a time.
I'm not in a position to put up a sign and sell drinks from my driveway this fall.
But if you know someone who will be hosting a sale, let me know and I'll share it with the blogosphere. Because no one should ever have to suffer at the hands of this disease.
Of you if you want to find out where some stands will be near you, check out AlexsLemonade.org.
Peace, love and health to all of you this day!
