This post could be called Picking Up Where I left Off But Not Filling In The Blanks...Yet. Or Chronicles of a Wannabe Runner. Or I'm Refusing To Mourn The Living.

So I'm leaving the post untitled.

I've decided to start publishing posts again because I've missed blogging. And all of you. I still will not be sharing any posts about my Mom's illness. I'm just not comfortable with it yet. But I realized this weekend that life's still moving forward, even though I feel I've lost nearly two months. So I'm back.

I gave up running when we first heard Mom's prognosis seven weeks ago. And now it's beginning to show! I've really given up a lot of "me" things, including seeing some friends, getting my brows waxed (I look like I have Woolybears above my eyes), and having my daily vino. So Sunday I said enough is enough - and I hit the pavement.

And now I hurt! I am so out of shape. So now I'm back to training...with hopes of doing another half marathon in the spring.

We had a nice Thanksgiving. The ultimate highlight was when we saw Amara's class play and realized she awarded two parts...including the part of the turkey!

And yes, I did go out on Black Friday. I can't share many deets since I don't want to risk messing up the surprise of someone's Christmas gift. However I will say I waited in line at Wal-Mart for an hour and a half. So Lolo2Amara and Amara, you better like the presents!

And that's about it in a nutshell.

Expect to see my around more often. Hope to see you all too!

  1. yay! welcome home, errr, back.
Ive been following your IM SO RUNNINGSORE tweets and chiming in with a Me TOO Sister! from my desk.

  2. Welcome back sweetie. I am sorry to hear about your mom's condition, but don't forget about yourself through all this. Running helps you in more ways than you imagine. Don't give up simply because life is handed you some lemons - you are stronger than that.

  3. Hi and hugs! Glad you're back and be sure to take care of yourself too. Too often we forget that we need tlc too.

  4. Good to see you back! And DO take care of yourself. I know it seems hard. Thinking of you...

  5. I think of you often as I lurk on Twitter. I come around to read your blog about once a month so I guess I've been keeping up based on your schedule. You have a lot on your plate but I bet running again will help. Take care! - MsSilpada

  6. Love you honey. I hope you know I am praying for you all everyday. You DO have to take care of you. You are experiencing what I dealt with for the last 4 years. My caregiving took me away from me, fitness, and really hanging with my buddies. But, I got the honor of spending quality time with my bestest friend. Honestly, Monina, I would do it all over again if I had the chance! Hang in there. I'm not gonna say it will get better because since Mom passed, I still have NOT had time to work out or see you.
