what's hot in the 44011?

Apparently Badgley Mischka say pearls are a must in Lexington. Madras plaid is what Tommy Hilfiger suggests for Nantucket.

I read an article earlier this week detailing how the dress code at this weekend's holiday parties can depend on your zip code.

I don't know about the 90210. But in the 44011, my wardrobe for our friends' Fourth of July parties will be sans bling. I pretty guarantee I'll be in flip flops and a sundress for days on end.

But I always taken a cue from Amara. She is the resident diva at our house.

Previous holidays, we've taken in a ballgame. And she'll go for a preppy look. Amara knows there are plenty of boys around and still must dress to impress.

But we don't want to ignore the lakefront so when we head for the water, she wears a hoodie for warmth. And a touch of color for pizazz.

Of course you need to then discuss hair and makeup. And in the summertime, soft colors are a must.

(Yes, I know, this photo isn't from CLE, but you get the point.)

So what's your attire like for this weekend's picnics? Do you believe there will be party-goers following a dress code?

  1. Adorable pictures! We're always really casual -- shorts, t-shirts, beers in coolers, probably bare feet. We usually have some family over, so that probably influences our attire.

  2. Bare feet? I walk around shoeless all the time! It's like a rite of passage in our household. If you can walk in shoes, you're old enough to take 'em off and go barefoot. Be free!
